End of First Year at KINGS!

Kayyyy what is up, people? My third semester at KINGS ended last week. Lots of people had gone back home. I have to work on my project research. Sooo, bedtime story now. Had another Cross Cultural Program (CCP), we went to PyongChang this time, to a ski resort called YongPyong Resort! I went snowboarding. Last time I remember falling on my butt for so many times I decided that I hate snowboarding. But this time, I kinda enjoyed it. I actually love snowboarding. Not an expert yet, but I was doing great, though I fell a lot. One tragedy though, we took a group lesson (well, typical thing to do if you go ski or snowboard once a year, of course you'd need one) and we were sitting somewhere in the middle of the slope, waiting for our turn to practice this particular technique. Suddenly, like out of freaking nowhere, a ski blade, a freaking ski blade that was sliding down the slope from the top, hit my freaking butt. It was so damned painfulllll my butt was throbbing every second for the next two freaking hours. I could not sleep on my right side that night (and the following 10 nights) and on the next day, the place where I got hit turned red, blue, purple - it's like a horrible abstract painting that's worth only 300 won!!! Damn, son!

Anyway here are some pictures. The place will host 2018 Winter Olympics, I heard. Nicerrrr.

It was a crazy trip, I was one of the "Board of Games Commissioners" for a games night kinda party thing for students and profs. Because of the exams and project reports that we had to submit before going for the CCP, we had only 2 or 3 meetings, and the final meeting, which was held a day before the trip was when we finalized every-freaking-thing. We finished planning and preparing for the games night around 330am, and we had to wake up around 7am since we were leaving at 730am. I slept at 6am that day because I had to pack and all (including eating as I was sooo hungry from the long meeting, plus we had a festival going on in the morning where we had to perform the stupid Saranghae song - again I played guitar for my friends to sing to) after the meeting.

And when we arrived at the resort (it was snowingggg and people said it rarely snows in that area actually - the resort uses artificial snow most of the time using that machine that produces snow) we had to get all the rental gears. At night after the games night thingy (everyone enjoyed our arrangement, I was so happyyy), the profs invited us the Board of Games Commissioners people to have some drinks at a bar. So we hung out with the profs until past midnight (and I had just like less than an hour of sleep that day, okay plus like maybe 2 or 3 hours of sleep on the bus, which was not sufficient at all). Nevertheless, still enjoyed everything! Oh by the way, I have always wanted to do Taeguk (Taekwondo pattern) in the snow, and this time I did ittttt. I did Taeguk 7 in the snowwwww.

Then after the trip, we attended Jude's wedding on Sunday. Jude requested for us to perform at his wedding, so we practiced the song (we chose "Can't Help Falling In Love" by Elvis Presley) the whole  night before, Kirah on guitar, Mimie of course flute and Ha and I on vocals.

Practicing before the actual performance

After the wedding, Kirah and I stayed back in Bujeon to go for Yellow Monsters concert. Damnnnnn they're so good. I was so surprised that there were so little people and the place, Cosmic Collavo (formerly known as Rock House) was so small (it's like a bar and it's like in the basement). There were like almost 20 people who came, I felt bad actually but regardless, Yellow Monsters still performed as if they're performing for a 1000-people crowd. I loved their show! We got to take some pictures with the band. How often do you get to do that rightttt. I mean, it's usually hard, if not impossible, to take a picture with the performing band if this was just a regular, ordinary concert that everyone goes to.

Ice Cream Love

I don't really love ice cream. But I am in love with them Yellow Monsters! Going to see them next Sunday. Excited like a baboon. I love chocolate. And sambal goreng.

Below is the original version of the song. I always prefer the acoustized version of songs. Awesome shittttttt!

Quoting Yggrite

I want to write a lot of things but I can't. Because honestly, I don't know anything. And I know nothing. Words would just end up being words. We put our own interpretation to them. And I still can't gain anything out of it.

Sometimes I have difficulty breathing. Sometimes I hear and feel my heart beating with irregular  pulsating rhythms. I may or may not need to diagnose my condition.

you are never alone

My (KINGS) brother and I made someone happy by singing an old song to that person yesterday. Mimie (played flute) and I (played ukulele) practiced the song for like an hour and we were so glad that he liked our performance. Happy Birthdayyyy, Prof :) Youuuu are the best!

Red Is the Color!

Taekwondo Belt Test again yesterday. Surprisingly I got promoted to red! So happyyyyyyyyy.

The Strangers I Know

Can you say that you know a stranger? How can you know a stranger? You shouldn't know anything about a stranger. That's why the person is called a stranger. But to have acquainted with a somewhat special stranger (special because the person is a stranger yet you feel so comfortable talking and sharing ideas with the person) makes you feel like discovering an enjoyable party in the middle of somewhere when you suddenly realize that you're lost. Some strangers, they listen to you, and trying their best to give you an advice. And the best part would be, some strangers, they don't judge you at all. To them, you are as human as the rest of the population and it is natural for you and even the strangers themselves, to make mistakes. Maybe it would not solve your problem - the talk with this special stranger. But the talk somehow gives you a clarification on certain things, sometimes confirming your hypothesis, and sometimes shows you a totally differing perspective on certain things. I found out that unfolding the hidden probability is very awakening and interesting, and I also enjoy the process of unfolding. I am very grateful to be given the chance to interact with these special strangers.

Here's to all the awesome people out there, including my Daddy. I miss him so much, and he is probably the only non-stranger in the world who does not judge me regardless of what I do or have done.

Gijang Hakkyo (기장 학교)

Visited an old school and got to wear the school uniform in the old days, Le Hanbok!

Female students

The class is about to commence.

Learned how to bow. There's two types of bow, a simple bow and a... I don't know they call it a 'deep' bow. They do the latter during wedding ceremonies and when paying respect to the deceased during Chuseok for example. In this picture, we tried doing the deep bow.

Class of 2012 hahaha

Going down the steps

Gathering

Playing some traditional games. You need to throw the sticks into that box. Not as easy as it sounds or looks, seriously. But I was quite good at it.

Throwing rings, well you do this at the funfair

This is like playing gasing, you spin that thing and then you hit it (more like chastise it) so that it would keep on spinning. Hahah it was kinda fun actually.

My long lost brother, found it nibbling at grass and i just had to grab this little monster

em chao chi khanh. yea i speak some vietnamese too nyehehe

Nice right?

Took a rest and we were served with fruits - persimmons, grapes, rice cakes, tangerines and tea. Loved itttttt so muchhhh.
